ā€˜Journal Tribune’ publishes column by Amy Davidoff on heart health in 'York County Health & Wellness'

A column by Amy Davidoff, Ph.D., professor of biomedical sciences in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, was recently published in the Journal Tribune’s monthly publication York County Health & Wellness.

Davidoff contributed a piece for the publication’s January/February issue that focuses on heart disease awareness.

ā€œHeart Smart: Easier said than done?ā€ discusses realistic behavioral modifications that can help lower the risk of heart disease. She stresses the importance of setting goals that are not overwhelming. ā€œWhat will small, measureable goals do?ā€ she asks. ā€œThey can help us change unhealthy habits in a way that is realistic and sustainable.ā€

Davidoff continues, ā€œDenying ourselves things we love is not realistic, but if we start cutting down on portions or swap an apple for potato chips twice a week, it is a start.ā€
