Jennifer Stiegler-Balfour Named Director of Publications by Society for the Teaching of Psychology

Jennifer Stiegler-Balfour, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Psychology, was recently named the new director of publications by the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (STP, a division of the American Psychological Association).

In her new role, Stiegler-Balfour will assist the editors of Teaching of Psychology with the E-xcellence in Teaching of Psychology essays, and STP E-books.

She will work on strategic planning and publicizing new and emerging topics.

Stiegler-Balfour’s research is focused on improving understanding of basic and applied questions of human cognition, making her ideally suited for the new role.

During her career, Stiegler-Balfour has published numerous articles and book chapters on different aspects of reading comprehension and the teaching of psychology. She was previously served as a co- editor of two STP E-Books and held multiple leadership roles with STP’s Early Career Psychologist Committee.
